Environments like these have properties that render previous approaches infeasible, such as rapidly changing requirements, large data sets, and the impossibility to create common "global" integration models. We present a combined model management and query rewriting approach for solving these problems and conclude with a brief demonstration of a practical system that we have implemented, which uses new, scalable query rewriting algorithms based on techniques from both AI and databases.
